This week has been a lot of fun! Paul got his official acceptance letter to Baylor on Tuesday! And he flew out on Thursday to UT Southwestern for his very last interview. He came back on Saturday and said he liked it even better than Baylor! (That is really saying something). He liked their facilities about the same as Baylor and the other graduate students were just as normal and friendly as Baylor, but the faculty were much more down to earth and welcoming at UT than at Baylor. Paul thanked them all for taking the time to answer his questions and help him have a positive experience in Dallas. All the faculty responded that they think UT is a great fit for him and hope to see him in the Fall! So, I guess that means he is in :)

After I dropped Paul off at the airport on Thursday, I went to lunch with Jennie for a couple hours while she had a break from work. It was really fun to catch up with her. After lunch I went over to Mike and Wendy's house where Wendy was helping me learn how to use one of her sewing machines. I had just eaten with Jennie, so I wasn't hungry. The rest of the Roberts went out for food while I cut fabric for my Halloween quilt :) We sewed the night away when they got back and ran some errands before calling it a night.
Friday, Wendy and I went to an embroidery class at the fairgrounds. The company that held the class, Anita's University, is a company that has a large focus on educating people how to use their embroidery machines. Wendy liked them as well because their embroidery designs seem to be higher quality than others. Friday and Saturday we went and practiced different methods of embroidery. We made 7 projects that helped us feel more comfortable with how to use different fabrics, do a front and back, and incorporate ribbon and batting in the projects. I was nervous before attending and was apprehensive of how it would go. I was happily surprised by how fun and well done the class was. They took a lot of time to walk us through the projects before we began and that gave me, a beginner, a lot more confidence.

Sunday we had a calm Sunday at the Christensen home. It was fun to spend time with Amelia. Eliza and Bennett came over for dinner. We played several games, like code names, ticket to ride, and catch phrase. Eliza and Bennett went over to his families Sunday dinner and the rest of us went to visit Grandpa Reed in the hospital. He had swelling in his pancreas due to his high fat diet. They put him on an IV and had him fast to bring down his lipase levels. He was doing much better when we saw him.

It snowed all day on Sunday, so Paul and I were worried about road conditions getting back to Logan. We ended up staying in Salt Lake until Monday morning and drove up early to get me to work. It was a good choice because the roads were much more clear the next morning. It was fun to spend a little more time with family talking and catching up.

We hope you all had a good week. Love you!
