January 20-26, 2020

Monday was MLK day and Paul and I didn't have to go to school or work. We made some ice cream and watched movies and Paul did homework.

Paul had his first interview for grad school this week. We were worried about snow, so Paul's parents came and got him Wednesday night. His flight left Thursday and he was gone until Saturday evening. The school paid for him to stay in this super nice hotel room that was right next to the medical complex that Baylor is a part of.

I just had a normal week of work. I deep cleaned on Thursday. Wendy texted me and invited me to hang out with them on Friday since I was alone in Logan. I hate being alone so as soon as I got done with work I drove down to salt lake. It was good timing too because I left right as it started snowing.

When I got down there, Wendy and Rachel were telling me what they were thinking of doing for furniture when the upstairs is finished. It is going to look so awesome! Then we talked about quilts until everyone was ready to go to dinner. We ended up going to a new Asian restaurant in bountiful called fat fish. Wendy was so nice and got me salmon sashimi sushi. It was so delicious! Then we got some crumble cookies to share. Rachel and I shared the Oreo one and it was really good. After that, I headed to my parents house and called Paul. He loved Baylor and was very impressed by the breadth of research that is being done there. He felt he connected well with several faculty during interviews and is expecting to hear a decision from them within the next few weeks. The activity for the interviewees on Friday was just getting drinks at the pub, so after dinner he just went back to his hotel room and watched TV.

Saturday was relaxed. Ben and I went on a 4 mile run before we went to lunch at Ruth's diner with everyone at home. We played settlers of Catan (Jacob won) and Qwixx (I won..I think ) before I left to get Paul. His flight arrived early so I had to rush out the door.

We then went to Paul's families house. Wendy and Rachel found some really cute fabric for a quilt suggestion I gave Wendy. Emily and I joined them in a little sewing assembly line while Paul told his dad about the interviews. Then we went to dinner at Black Bear before heading back up to Logan.

Sunday has been relaxed as well since we don't have church until 11:30. We had Adam over for dinner and we're excited for another interview coming up for Paul this weekend.

Love you all!
