This week has been crazy! Monday, Paul, Sam, Matt, and I drove up to Logan. I got breakfast for everyone while the boys disposed of our unwanted couch and loaded up all three cars with our stuff. Wendy, Mike, and Andy drove up after us so Mike could finish his bike ride. Mike went with Paul, Sam, and Matt on the 20 hour drive down to Texas while I checked us out of the apartment and went with Wendy and Andy to lunch with Adam and Sanora.
Afterwards, we drove back to North Salt Lake. I took a shower, we did some shopping at Joann's and Kohls and got a yummy dinner at Hug-Hes. Hannah drove up and went shopping with us too. It was a lot of fun! Then we watched Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama. The boys stopped in Fort Collins, CO for the night. They said that was the best hotel they stayed in the whole time!
Tuesday, I made this hat wreath with stuff we got at Joann's and hung it on Wendy's front door. I love how it turned out. We did some more shopping and got Cafe Rio for dinner. We watched Hamilton on Disney Plus because I hadn't seen it before. I love the music from it and really enjoyed watching it with everyone. The boys stopped in Childress, TX for the night. They said it was sketchy and were quick to check out the next morning.
Wednesday, Wendy drove me to the airport. Andy and Emily left goodbye gifts for me which has to be the sweetest thing. Emily did an awesome cross stitch of Lil' Sebastian from the tv show, Parks and Recreation. Andy gave me his lucky egg, a necklace, and one of his favorite books (which I just started reading!). He gave Paul his Lego minifigures. They were very sweet, heartfelt gifts.
The flight was good. Landing in Dallas I got really woozy. I was scared out of my mind on the drive over to the apartment. I was so worried about it and Paul was doing his best to calm my fears. We got there and ended up really loving what we saw. We gave the okay for Sam and Matt to come unload everything. They were really quick and I didn't need to do very much work, which I am grateful for! After that we went back to the hotel in Dallas that Sam, Matt, and Mike were staying in. We walked over to Fogo De Chao for Sam's birthday dinner, which is a brazilian steakhouse. It was seriously so delicious.
Thursday, we unpacked a little bit before meeting up with the guys for breakfast at Original Pancake House. We saw them off as they started their road trip home. We are so grateful for their help. We could not have done it without them.
The rest of the day and the rest of the weekend we shopped and set up our apartment. Sunday we drove 5 minutes to the Dallas temple. It is a beautiful area on the south side of the freeway and so close to us! Then we tested out the drive to UTSW. Not too bad. We looked at places to live that were on the way and can confidently say we'd rather have a longer commute.
We hope you all are well. We love you very much and miss you already!
