March 23-29, 2020

 This week was more of the same. All the criminal cases got moved to June and traffic was moved to October. But I keep pretty busy because I process the email requests. 

Monday we bought a 7 piece dining set because it was SUPER CHEAP and I just loved it. It didn't fit in our car so I asked my coworker, Kristin, to help us get it to our apartment. So, Tuesday after work, we went over there in her Tahoe and got it to our apartment. Our parking lot is pretty tight and Kristin had a trailer on her car so we took it out of the car on the street and carried it the rest of the way. Kristin's husband came too, so it was both of them and Paul and me and it was a lot of work! The table and chairs were all in one box and it was real wood, so it was heavier than we thought and took like 15 minutes to carry it 50 yards. They were so awesome to help us. I made them some bread to say thanks. 
 

I've been looking up apartments online too this week and we just found out we need to give our current apartment manager a 60 day notice that we're leaving. So that means we needed to have an apartment set up in Dallas yesterday. So we met with our property manager and called UTSW and talked about it and.. We are going to wait to move until the end of July. We're both bummed that we couldn't get an extra rotation in for Paul over the summer but hopefully everything will clear up and be better by then. 


I got a lot of sewing done this weekend! The quilt is finally coming together. I also did some meal prep and made Terry's delicious bran muffins for this week.

 This week was good. I was able to mail mom's stockings on Monday then start on Peter's. I finished his by the end of the week, so that was good. They turned out so cute and tiny! My coworker, Liz, told me about this overstock store that has all these Christmas trees and how she got a $150 one for $30 and I was like..heck yeah! I am totally going to check it out. Paul humored me and we went together on Thursday. It was kind of gross and disorganized and there weren't a lot of personnel around but we did find a tree that was originally $260 and we got it for $50! It was totally unopened and I love it! Paul found it too, I'm so glad he was willing to come with me. The weekend I sewed a ton and got started on Wendy's order and made some Thanksgiving napkins. Paul worked hard in lab and got to start his own project! It is very exciting and he is learning a lot. We love you all!

August 24-30, 2020

  This week was a good week! Paul had a good week of classes and I got a job! I was applying all week and heard back from a law firm I had called a couple weeks ago. They emailed me on Thursday, we set up an interview for Friday, they hired me Friday and my first day is tomorrow! I will be a practice assistant for the firm. They specialize in patent and trademark law and they are only a 5 minute drive from our apartment! I am very excited for this opportunity! It will be similar to what I have done for work in the past but I'm sure there will be plenty of new things as well. Saturday, we went to the mall to get me more office clothes and just walked around in the nice air conditioning. It was a fun celebration of getting a job that is better than what we were looking for. We hope you all are well. Love you!

January 6-12, 2020

This week was good. It was the first week of classes for Paul's last semester at USU. yay! Almost done!  Paul liked all his classes except one from this past week. He found another one he can take instead and is ready for the rest of the semester! For some reason I've been having headaches this week. They got so bad that I just stayed in bed on Wednesday (besides the 8 hours I worked). It was helpful because I did not have a headache on Thursday! Paul was really sweet and took care of cleaning and cooking this week so I didn't have to worry about it.  This weekend we watched Dallas play Denver in basketball. Saturday we watched Dallas play the Lakers. We just stayed in because it snowed a ton and made the roads crazy. Saturday morning was clear though, so we went to the pool and did some laps there for some low impact exercise. I had a lot of fun and hope we keep it up for the semester. Swimming is a lot harder than I remember as a kid! But I'm psyched.  Sunday the road...
